Rewriting Justice: Authors & Executives in Conversation for Reform featuring Sir Richard Branson and Jarvis Jay Masters

  • Responsible Business Initiative for Justice 1050 30th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20007 United States (map)

Join us for a rare and powerful conversation between Jarvis Jay Masters — author of “That Bird Has My Wings, currently incarcerated and fighting a death sentence in California — and Sir Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group and co-founder of the Business Leaders Against the Death Penalty campaign. Speaking over the phone from prison, Masters shares the extraordinary story behind his acclaimed memoir, tracing his journey from a childhood marked by abuse and trauma to decades on death row.

Together, he and Branson confront the dehumanizing impact of the death penalty, its inherent risk of arbitrariness and wrongful conviction, and what Masters’ experience reveals about justice, resilience, and redemption.
