Employers are increasingly experimenting with AI tools in their recruitment and hiring processes — but what does this mean for job seekers who’ve been impacted by the justice system? Used thoughtfully, AI may have the power to make the hiring process fairer and more inclusive for the justice-impacted talent pool. But used carelessly — especially if built on biased data — it may make existing hiring barriers even more impenetrable for these candidates.
Additional questions include whether justice-impacted job seekers are equipped to navigate this new landscape of AI-augmented recruitment, and does the increased use of AI in job functions reduce opportunities in roles that have historically been more accessible to people with criminal records?
In this roundtable, we will begin to explore some of these issues, inviting employers to share the AI tools they have tested or adopted and what challenges or benefits the technology has brought to their Fair Chance Hiring initiatives. Invite-only event.
