Every year RBIJ commissions a justice-involved artist to design a holiday card on the theme "Hope and Justice". This year's card was created by William Coney, an artist currently incarcerated at Freemont Correctional Facility in Colorado.
"The most iconic representation of hope and justice in the Rockies arrives in the songs of springtime. The mountain bluebird represents the end of winter's judgment and the promise of a new life."
A special thank you to the Denver University Prison Arts Initiative (DU PAI) for helping to facilitate this year's card.
